Booking Deposit

To officially hold your event date, a booking deposit is required. This is a non-negotiable amountβ€”up to 30% of your estimated totalβ€” and it’ll be listed clearly on your invoice. That deposit will go toward your final payment as long as:

  • You show up on time,

  • You don’t cancel or reschedule the event.

If something comes up and you need to reschedule, you won’t have to pay a new deposit as long as it’s within the rescheduling window (see Rescheduling & Cancellations). If it’s outside this timeframe, a new deposit will be needed.

Your original deposit may apply towards your final balance so long as you did not reschedule your date more than one time and you have not passed the rescheduling window timeframe (see Rescheduling & Cancellations).

Rescheduling & Cancellations

I totally understand that plans change. If you need to reschedule, just text or email me as soon as possible. You can reschedule without needing a new deposit if you let me know by:

  • Weddings & Elopements: 3 weeks prior to scheduled event

  • Newborn & Maternity: 2 weeks prior to scheduled session

  • Couples & Family: 2 weeks prior to scheduled session

  • Surprise Proposal Sessions: 3 days in advance

  • Other Events: 2 weeks prior to scheduled event

For anything not listed above, 3 weeks notice is a good rule of thumb (unless we agreed otherwise). If you cancel or reschedule outside these timeframes, the original deposit will be forfeited and you’ll need to submit a new one to rebook. Cancellation at any time automatically forfeits the deposit.

You may only reschedule an event 2 times before I reserve the right to decline any future rescheduling requests or new service inquiries.

Punctuality & Tardiness

With big events it can be difficult to have things on a fixed schedule. But please be aware and plan for more time than needed. I’ll try to be flexible, but I cannot guarantee extra time as other clients may have booked an event right after yours. 

If we go past the scheduled time (and there isn't a schedule session after your event) I’ll stay but I will charge an additional fee which is usually much more than if we had planned for extra time beforehand. Keep in mind that this will result in fewer images, especially if I can’t extend the time.

Pricing

Pricing is based on what we discuss, and may change if services are added or modified at any point leading up to, or the day of, our scheduled event. Any updatesβ€”whether in conversation or writingβ€”will be reflected in a new invoice, and I’ll move forward based on that unless told otherwise.

Payment

The final balance is due the day of the event. This is to ensure that once your gallery is edited and ready and I can easily distribute it to you without waiting for final payment. You will not be added into my editing queue until you have zeroed out your remaining balance. You’ll have up to 5 business days after your event to complete the final balance before being charged a late fee.Final edited images will not be delivered until payment is received.

There are absolutely no refunds. This is why it is important that you like the work I produce and understand that Dezly Pics LLC will produce similar work when photographing our event.ο»Ώ

Deliverables & Estimates

The number of images estimated to be delivered are not exact and are given to help provide an idea of my services. The final number can change and varies based on:

  • Event length,

  • Your comfort level,

  • If we start on time,

  • Uniqueness of the event,

  • Or just the unexpected.

If you know that any circumstances may affect my ability to take photos, please let me know as soon as possible. I want to get the most out of our event and transparency helps me prepare for it!

All photographs from Dezly Pics will be delivered through a third-party site via link. USB drives are available upon request. All photos will be distributed in full quality JPEG files.

I will not distribute RAW files under any circumstance.

Photo Ownership & Advertising

All photos taken during your event are my intellectual property and copyrighted. This means you cannot claim them as your own. However, you have full personal-use rights, including printing and sharing on personal/social platforms (credit is always appreciated!). I retain the right to use photos for my portfolio, advertising, or promotional materials.

Photos from our event may be shared on my website, social media, or used for promotional materials. If you’d prefer to not have your likeness used this way β€” just request ahead of time. I cannot control third-party platforms and cannot be held responsible once images are already posted. This is why it’s super important to voice this before final payment is processed and before photographs have been distributed.

If I don’t receive any written communication from you stating this concern, I’ll assume everyone involved is comfortable and will move forward as usual.

Likeness & Inspiration

Feel free to send inspiration photosβ€”they help me understand the look you’re going for! I’ll do my best to match the style or vibe, but I can’t guarantee an exact recreation because of natural differences like:

  • Your unique appearance,

  • Your comfort level,

  • The lighting or location.

  • My photography style.

My goal is to capture your authentic self while still taking pictures in my own style. You hired me because you like my photographs and I’m going to stick with my unique eye and creative judgement. I’ll offer posing tips and guidance along the way as well as try to incorporate some of your photos – just recognize that they will not be exact replicas.

I am also not responsible for subjects; unwillingness to participate, cooperate, or appear engaged during the event. I will do my best to get people to cooperate but ultimately I cannot control subjects and their willingness to smile or pose.

Prints & Third Party Fulfillment

Prints and books are available at an additional cost and are a great way to bring your memories to life beyond the screen!

All images are delivered in high-resolution JPEG format from a 24-megapixel camera, which gives you plenty of flexibility for printing. They are also delivered in a 3:2 ratio so keep this in mind when selecting print sizes.

Here's how it works: once you’ve received the digital images (via link) you can visit the shop to browse the different selection of prints, invitations, decor and more. You can choose which prints you like through the partnered third-party website. All print orders are fulfilled through a trusted third-party printing service. I even use them for my own prints and I have heard nothing but good things from clients.
